I pass many possible waterholes on my trecks to Oakengates, but I wait patiently for the delight of slating my thirst at my favourite pub – The Crown. I love the place, the people, the atmosphere and of course the ale! See you Wednesday chaps!

Wahey! Finally a website that does the Crown justice.
Just wanted to send my regards to all at the Crown, I hope everybody is well as it’s been a while since I’ve been able to get there in person. No doubt you’ll be glad to hear I’ve been keeping abreast of the latest quality ales up t’north – based on all of the wisdom and beer tasting opportunities that John and Tanya gave me over the years!
Hopefully see you all at the next festival if not before, keep up the good work and I’ll keep my eye on the site for news and updates too.

Very good looking site, found it whilst surfing.
Certainly made me nostalgic for all the great times I spent in the Crown when it was my local from 1996 to 2001, before I moved, & all the good bands I saw there.

Thanks to all customers and staff for taking part in a mad few weeks. Oakengates Folk Day set the pace in September with 13 live acts in 11 hours. Now, one of our busiest beer festivals ever saw the back bar drunk dry before the end! I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and O look forward to seeing you all back here soon!

Sites looking good, The Crown has become my regular watering hole due to the great atmosphere.
John & his staff are great with picking out ales for me that suit my personal taste and will always offer a sample before you buy which i believe is a great service.
Keep it up guys.
